Historically, Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil has been valued for its relaxing, aroma-fixing properties and for its own perfume.
Despite its similar name, it should not be confused with Australian Sandalwood, another different botanical species with completely different properties.
Indian Sandalwood essential oil is extracted by distillation of the wood. It is pale yellow, fairly viscous, and has a woody scent.
It is mainly known for its relaxing effect and its woody scent, widely used in perfumery, soap making and cosmetics, for its perfume, as an odor fixative, and as a substitute for Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum), because it is much more economical.
100% pure essential oil of Amyris balsamifera (QT. Valerianol) from Haiti, obtained from wood.
