Sage is an aromatic bush plant of the Lamiaceae family. Its name of Roman origin refers to the virtue of this herb to improve a multitude of diseases. The active part of this plant is the leaves, which contain essential oil, mainly consisting of alpha and beta-tuyone, camphor and cineol, tannins, rosmarinic acid, flavonoids, diterpenes and triterpenes.

Antimicrobial and anti-fungal action: mainly thanks to its essential oil, as well as some anti-viral activity.
Anti-inflammatory: thanks to rosmarinic acid.
Hormone regulator: thanks to phytoestrogenic substances that relieve symptoms of climacteric and dysmenorrhoea.
Astringent
Stimulating of secretions
Antiperspirant: to combat hyperhidrosis.
Main indications
Inflammations and infections of the mucous membranes.
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
Female hormonal imbalances (menopause and dysmenorrhoea).
